Arrest warrant issued against UML lawmaker Baniya

KATHMANDU: An arrest warrant has been issued against CPN-UML leader and lawmaker Mohan Bania.

A 40-year-old woman from Jumla had lodged a complaint against lawmaker Baniya accusing him of a rape.

According to DSP Madhusudan Neupane, the spokesperson of the Banke District Police, an arrest warrant has been issued against Baniya on rape allegation.

Lawmaker Baniya was a minister in UML Chairman KP Oli’s cabinet. He was elected a lawmaker under the proportional representation system.
