137 people arrested for protesting against MCC in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 137 people protesting against Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) from Kathmandu on Wednesday.

They were arrested from New Baneshwor, Maitighar and other places in Kathmandu.

The government has designated the New Baneshwor area around the Parliament Building as a prohibitory area.

According to the police, protesters had tried to enter the prohibited area.

Police said as many as nine police personnel were injured in clashes with the demonstrators.
