Govt issues order on prevention and control of third wave of coronavirus with omicron, 2022

KATHMANDU: The government has issued an order on prevention and control of third wave of coronavirus and omicron, 2022.

The order was issued in the wake of the rapid spread of coronavirus with new mutation – Omicron.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said so on Sunday.

Informing media about the decision of the Cabinet meeting held on January 14, the Minister said the meeting also approved the sharing of royalty among federal, province and local levels on natural resources.

As per the meeting, the government decided to announce Tilaurakot Kapilvastu as the protected memorial area. Similarly, the government decided to provide humanitarian aid to the Afghan people.

Minister Karki also shared that a compensation determination committee would be formed on the projects- Mewa-Change, and Kerabari-New Marsyangdi 132 KV transmission line. Authority would be given to acquire land and initiate further action on the Budhiganga Hydropower project, Khorlebensi (Gorkha) 33 KV transmission line and Palpa 220 KV substation project.

It was also decided to grant permission in principle for the formulation of the bill on Nepal University and the establishment of sisterly city relations between Tokha Municipality and Nagqu city of Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

Various 11 local levels would be given permission to acquire land for running different projects. The Cabinet also endorsed the Prime Minister Employment Programme Operation (Second) Directive, 2022; Chobhar Dry Port Custom Office Organogram and Quota; Bird Flu Regulation, 2022; and National Livestock Policy, 2022.
