JANAKPURDHAM: A special committee formed to finalize the name and permanent capital of Province 2 is scheduled to submit its report in today’s meeting of the Provincial Assembly of Province No. 2.
According to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, the meeting has been called for 11 am today.
The Committee formed under the convenership of Speaker Saroj Kumar Yadav will present the report in today’s meeting.
The Assembly will then discuss the proposal, said Ranjit Kumar Yadav, secretary of the State Assembly Secretariat.
The Assembly is yet to finalize the name of Province 2.
Names, including Madhes Pradesh, Janaki Pradesh, Mithila Bhojpura Pradesh, and Madhya Madhes Pradesh have been floated.
