DoIB imparts capacity-building training for journalists in Rasuwa



RASUWA: The Department of Information and Broadcasting has imparted capacity-building training for journalists in Rasuwa.

The training has been designed to enhance the capacity of journalists working in remote areas and bring out stories from far-flung regions of the district.

As many as 30 journalists are participating in the training being held in Rasuwa headquarters, Dhunche, since December 14. Director at the Department of Information and Broadcasting Bharat Gautam is leading the training delivery.

Training instructor Dr Bijaya Mishra informed that journalists are being trained in developing their skills on interviewing, feature and investigative writing and in-depth reporting on the issues of development, tourism, hydropower and agriculture.

The government agency under the Ministry of Communications has designed and delivered the training to journalists and also started renewing press pass and registering new online media at local level.

Before the training, the sixth general assembly of the FNJ Rasuwa chapter was held.

FNJ district chapter Keshab Prasad Poudel presided over the general assembly.

On the occasion, FNJ central member Dhruba Rawal, civil society chairperson Babulal Tamang, RSS reporter Gyanendra Neupane, Department Director Bharat Gautam and Dr Bijaya Mishra among others spoke about the challenges facing by journalism and potential solutions.
