Nov 20 polls: Maoist Center to not repeat PR lawmakers

KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist Center has decided not to repeat the lawmakers who already represented the party under the Proportional Representation category in the November 20 elections.

The party’s office bearers also decided not to nominate those lawmakers who have already served as PR members.

“In order to prepare a closed list of PR candidates, the party provinces will submit names by September 15 and while preparing the list of PR lawmakers, those who were already PR members will not be repeated,” Prachanda’s secretariat said.

Likewise, the party’s office bearers also discussed the report of the committee formed to investigate the irregularities in the local elections under the leadership of the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee.

Meanwhile, after submitting the PR list to the Election Commission, the five-party coalition has decided to finalize the allocation of seats by holding a meeting on September 20.
