Bancharedanda locals stop trucks carrying garbage

NUWAKOT: Locals have stopped trucks carrying garbage from Kathmandu to Bancharedanda of Nuwakot district.

Locals and representatives of political parties stopped the vehicles that reached the landfill site at Bancharedanda on Monday morning.

Locals have been obstructing the garbage trucks after Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah and the locals have not been able to reach an agreement on the issue of garbage dumping.

Meanwhile, representatives of various political parties have also started to show solidarity with the locals.

On Sunday, local leaders of the three ruling parties announced that they would not allow the dumping of garbage in Bancharedanda.
