NC lawmaker Pushpa Bhusal becomes Deputy Speaker



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress lawmaker Pushpa Bhusal has been elected Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Bhusal was elected Deputy Speaker in the election held for the post in the House of Representatives on Friday.

Speaker Agni Sapkota announced that 148 votes were cast in favor of Bhusal and 93 against. Earlier, CPN-Maoist leader Dev Prasad Gurung had presented Bhusal’s name as the coalition candidate.

One vote was neutral.

Main opposition CPN-UML had presented lawmaker Bidya Bhattarai as its candidate for the post.
