NC, Maoist Center each win 11 local levels, UML victorious in 15
Vote count is underway across the country as results from some local bodies are trickling in.
According to the latest results, the coalition leader Nepali Congress (NC) has been victorious in 11 local bodies and is leading in 277 places.
So far, the Maoist Center has won 11 local units and is ahead in 109 local bodies.
JSP mayor candidate Singh widens his lead with nearly 1,600 votes in Birgunj Metropolis
Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) mayor candidate Rajeshman Singh is widening his lead with nearly 1,600 votes in Birgunj Metropolitan City.
Singh got 2,832 votes while his nearest rival Vijay Kumar Sarawgi of the CPN-UML collected 1,286 votes. Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s candidate Girish Giri is distant behind with just 86 votes.

Tight race in Bharatpur Metropolitan City
CPN-UML candidate Bijay Subedi has taken a slight lead in the mayoral election of Bharatpur Metropolitan City. He is three votes ahead of CPN-Maoist Center candidate Renu Dahal.
According to the latest results, Subedi got 2,468 votes while Dahal got 2,465 votes.
Coalition candidate Acharya leading mayoral race in Pokhara Metropolis
Counting of votes in Pokhara Metropolitan City is underway.
According to the latest results, Dhanraj Acharya of the CPN-Unified Socialist, who also represents ruling coalition, is ahead with 105 votes.
Acharya is at the forefront as 3,800 votes of Pokhara metropolis’ wards 1, 2, 12, 23 and 24 have been counted.
