Bir Hospital starts lab and X-ray services from extended facility in Duwakot



KATHMANDU: Bir Hospital has started providing laboratory and X-ray services from its Duwakot-based extended facility in Changunarayan Municipality.

Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Rosan Pokharel along with other officals inaugurated the services amidst a program at Bir Hospital’s extended hospital in Duwakot on Friday.

Bir Hospital Chief Dr. Bhupendra Basnet said laboratory and X-ray services were started from the hospital at Duwakot.

“X-ray of hand/leg fractures, chest along with simple tests related to blood, kidney, and diabetes can be availed from Duwakot extension,” he added.

Dr. Basnet said preparations were underway to operate specialist service from the extended facility within a few months.

Six health workers, including a doctor, have been deployed to run the clinic, lab, and laboratory from the old building.
