NEPALGUNJ: The Aircraft Museum at Besalpur in Nepalgunj, Banke district has formally come into operation from Saturday.

According to Captain Bed Uprety, chief of the Bed Uprety Trust, the Aircraft Museum has been relocated to Nepalgunj from Dhangadi, the provincial capital of Sudurpaschim Province, on coordinated efforts of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City and the people’s representatives in the Sub-Metropolis.

Captain Upreti expects the newly opened museum to function as a research center for the young aspirants willing to make their career in the aviation sector.

It was established at the cost of over Rs 15 million.  Captain Upreti informed that additional Rs 3 million has been invested to relocate the museum to Nepalgunj with the same aircraft.

The Aircraft Museum in Nepalgunj has been leased out for a decade. It will have a children park within the premises. Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolis-12 ward chair Buddisagar Subedi said that the museum was brought to Nepalgunj from Dhangadi to add a new destination for the domestic tourists.
