Covid: Delhi’s positivity rate exceeds 30 percent



NEW DELHI: Delhi logged 24,383 new confirmed cases of infection, another 26,236 recoveries and 34 more Covid-related deaths on Friday.

The new cases pushed the daily positivity rate in the national capital to 30.64 percent, the highest since May 1 last year when it was 31.6 percent, according to India Today.

The daily positivity rate indicates the percentage of people who test positive for Covid-19 out of all the tests conducted on that given day.

While the daily positivity rate now stands at 30.64 percent, the cumulative positivity rate in Delhi stands at 4.94 percent and the case fatality rate at 1.51 percent.

A total of 79,578 samples were tested for Covid-19 in Delhi in the last 24 hours. This was lower than the 98,000 samples tested on Thursday.

The national capital has tested 3,39,26,818 samples for the infection to date.
