Kalikot under increasing risk of COVID-19

KALIKOT: The risk of coronavirus infection is increasing in Kalikot district.

Following the different programmes of political parties including gatherings and conferences, coronavirus cases have increased in the district.

Seven people tested positive for coronavirus in course of conducting test through antigen test on 11 people on Friday in the district, according to the District Health Office, Kalikot.

All the infected people were found to have participated in the programmes of political parties, added the District Health Office.

Acting Chief of the District Health Office, Katak Bahadur Mahat, said that COVID-19 infection is rapidly increasing in the district, adding seven men and six women were infected with the virus of late.

“Third wave of COVID-19 has taken an alarming shape as compared to the previous phase,” he mentioned.

The coronavirus-infected people are in home isolation.

First dose of vaccine against COVID-19 has been administered to 81,181 people and 46,313 people have got second dose of vaccine so far in the district, according to the District Health Office, Kalikot.
