SC receives writ demanding revocation of Rabi Lamichhane’s HoR membership

KATHMANDU: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking the revocation of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane’s post of House of Representatives (HoR) member.

Yubaraj Poudel of Sindhuli filed the petition against RSP Chair Lamichhane, on Wednesday, demanding that he (Lamichhane) should not be sworn in as an HoR member.

Supreme Court spokesperson Bimal Paudel confirmed the news and said a petition has been filed seeking an order to prevent Lamichhane from swearing in as an HoR member.

The writ petitioner has claimed that there is a dispute over Lamichhane’s citizenship.
