NEPSE goes up by nominal 14.71 points on Thursday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained 14.71 points on Thursday. The index had gained 59.54 points yesterday.

The index that opened at 1987.32 points made an intraday high of 2,012.16 and intraday low of 1,977.14 and ultimately closed at 2,001.53 points. In terms of percentage, NEPSE gained 0.74 percent today.

A total of 6,210,908 shares of 220 companies traded hands via 39,168 transactions resulting in daily turnover of Rs 2.41 billion. This is higher than yesterday’s turnover of Rs 2.04 billion.

The shares of NIC Asia Bank Ltd traded the most and had the highest turnover of Rs. 301.8 million followed by Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower being the second most traded stock.

Mutual Funds gained the highest in today’s market. NIBL Pragati Fund gained the highest 9.98 percent and technically hit the positive circuit for the day. Prabhu Select Fund gained 7.97 percent at second place and Nabil Balanced Fund 2 6.90 percent at fifth spot, among others.

Prudential Insurance, meanwhile, lost the highest 5.01 percent today.

All sector indices closed green, “Hydropower” gained the highest 2.04% while “Investment” gained the least 0.05%.
