M Adhikari is not Governor Adhikari: UML

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has clarified that M Adhikari does not refer to Central Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari.

Lately, there is outrage in the public sphere thinking that M Adhikari might be the short form for Maha Prasad Adhikari.

To draw attention to the rumor circulating on social and mainstream media that Governor Adhikari is being referred to as M Adhikari in UML’s finance and planning department, Governor Adhikari had written to the UML central office saying that the Central Bank Governor could not have any ties with any political party and such was unimaginable.

In response to Governor Adhikari’s correspondence, the UML clarified that it was not him. However, the party did not clarify further who actually is M Adhikari (Khotang).

Meanwhile, ruling Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Center and others have been seeking Governor Adhikari’s resignation alleging that governor has ties with the UML.
