No unauthorized access to Finance Ministry as alleged by media reports: Minister Sharma

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Janardan Sharma has claimed there has been no unauthorized entry into the Finance Ministry as alleged by news reports a day prior to the government tabling the budget for the coming fiscal year.

Addressing a meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, he said that the news of unauthorized access into the Finance Ministry at midnight was misleading and fabricated.

The main opposition CPN-UML has protested and demanded Sharma’s resignation after news reports alleged that Minister Sharma had altered the tax rate by admitting two unauthorized persons to the ministry at midnight on May 29, the day before the budget was made public.
