Valley witnesses heavy rain amidst thunderstorms



KATHMANDU: A heavy rain has occurred with thunder and lightning at night in some places east of Gandaki including the Kathmandu Valley.

The heavy rain has occurred in Bagmati, Bishnumati and other rivers in the Kathmandu Valley. However, the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) said that the water level in any river has not reached the danger level so far.

Even though it rained heavily at night, only light rain has gradually subsided now. In the afternoon and evening, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some parts of Province-1 and Madhes Pradesh, according to the Division.

The traffic was disrupted for some time after a landslide fell around Muglin area at night due to continuous rain.

According to Muglin Police, the debris has been removed bringing the traffic into operation, said Muglin Police Inspector Sunjit Tamang.
