Postponed election of Gajyangkot, Jumla’s scheduled for tomorrow



JUMLA: The postponed local election of Guthichaur -3 Gajyankot-based Shankar Higher Secondary School polling center has been rescheduled to take place for May 15.

According to Chief District Officer Bijaya Kumari Prasai, a meeting chaired by Chief Election Officer Jawahar Prasad Singh on Friday evening decided to hold the election on Sunday.

After the clash between the parties resulted in pelting stones and vandalism, the election was postponed yesterday.

Before the postponement, 320 votes out of 1,007 were cast.

Chief Electoral Officer Singh said that the polling had to be postponed after the ballot papers and ballot boxes were vandalized.
