Counting begins in Bharatpur Metropolitan City



KATHMANDU: Counting of votes has started in Bharatpur Metropolitan City of Chitwan.

Even though the counting was scheduled to start from 9 am, it has started a bit late than the time scheduled, according to the Office of the Chief Election Officer.

The all-party meeting had decided to start counting of votes from Saturday morning. The counting of votes of Bharatpur Metropolitan City is being held at Chitwan Exhibition Center, Bharatpur Telecommunication Road.

Bharatpur has hit the headlines as Renu Dahal, daughter of UCPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is contesting the post of mayor for the second term.

A five-party alliance has jointly fielded Renu.
