Talks underway to finalize mayoral candidate in Chitwan: NC leader Singh



CHITWAN: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakash Man Singh has said that the coalition among the five political parties was formed to avert possible constitutional disaster in the country.

Speaking to journalists in Chitwan on Thursday, leader Singh said that the coalition — formed after the then government led by Prime Minister KP Oli dissolved the parliament twice — saved the constitution and its achievements.

He said that talks were underway to finalize the modality on the issue of forging an electoral alliance in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

He said, “The district-level leaders have met with NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba and other leaders. The party will now make a decision.”
