Parties play decisive role on MCC, says Speaker Sapkota

KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota said that the role of the parties would be decisive on the US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and he was only a referee.

Speaking to reporters after the all-party meeting he convened on Monday, Speaker Sapkota said, “I am just an umpire, the decisive role will be of the parties.”

When asked what was discussed about the MCC at the all-party meeting, he said, “Everyone presented their respective views and I intently heard them.”

“I am just as open-minded. I have heard all sides well as I am in the role of Speaker. Decision needs to me made independently and fairly,” he said.
