KATHMANDU: Main opposition CPN-UML is holding a parliamentary party (PP) meeting today.
To be held at Lhotse Hall of the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor at 11 am, the meeting will dwell on the latest political developments including the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.
The UML is making preparations to foil the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Rana through the parliament.
According to a UML lawmaker, the meeting will take a decision to stand against the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Rana.
The impeachment motion against Rana is not likely to be passed without out the support of UML. Two-thirds majority of the parliament is required to pass the impeachment motion.
Currently, UML has 98 lawmakers, Nepali Congress 63, CPN (Maoist Center) 49, CPN (Unified Socialist) 23, Janata Samajwadi Party 21, Democratic Socialist Party 13 and Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepal Workers and Peasant Party, Rastriya Janamorcha and independent have one seat each.
