FNCCI, Nepal Chamber of Commerce extend aid to Afghanistan



KATHMANDU: Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC)  and Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) have provided humanitarian relief assistance to Afghanistan.

NCC President Rajendra Malla handed over relief materials worth Rs 2 million to the people of Afghanistan through Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Narayan Khadka at a program on Friday. Likewise, CNI President Bishu Kumar Agrawal also handed over medicines worth Rs 2.3 million.

On the occasion, Chairman Malla expressed gratitude to the chamber for providing the opportunity to participate in humanitarian assistance and expressed his happiness to be involved in the assistance.

Receiving the assistance, Foreign Minister Khadka said that the government of Nepal and the private sector had done exemplary work in assisting a crisis-ridden neighboring country.

CNI President Agrawal said the private sector was always ready to assist in humanitarian causes at the government’s initiative.

Preparations are underway to fly the relief materials to Afghanistan on a Himalayan Airlines flight, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
