NRB introduces new Rs 2 coin featuring new map of Nepal



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has introduced a new two rupees coin with the new map of the country engraved on it.

NRB is bringing the coin in circulation from today.

This is the first coin covering areas, including Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulek, engraved on the country’s map.

The frontal of the coin contains a small map at the center delineating the borders of seven provinces.

Above the map are two dots that signify the rate of the coin for visually impaired people.

There are sixty-four dots forming a circle at the frontal perimeter. “Rs. Two” in English is inscribed on the frontal top whereas Rs. 2 is in  Devanagari script is at the bottom.

The back of the coin has Janaki temple with its name written in Devanagari script below the figure.

“Nepal” in Devanagari script is written on the upper part of the coin’s back and “2077” is written on the lower part.
