Five held on charge of murdering rickshaw puller



BIRGUNJ: The police in Parsa district arrested five suspects on charge of murdering Indian national Mukhtar Miya in Birgunj.

Forty-five years old Miya was found dead near Narayani Vayodha Hospital in Birgunj on January 6.

Police said that five Indian nationals were held for murdering Miya by attacking him with the iron rods over  minor disputes. The murder accused are Sunil Kumar, Nikesh Patel, Sapan Mandal, Najir Hussein and Babar Hussein of Bihar State from India.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Om Prakash Khanal, the murder accused were working and residing in different areas of Parsa and Bara districts.

Deceased Miya and murder accused Mandal were renting a same house in Birgunj, it is learnt. Another Indian national is at large after the murder of Miya, the police added.

Meanwhile, the police held a woman from Nepal-India border in Birgunj district for possessing 10 kg of cannabis.

Ranju Devi, 42, of Pipariya Parowa Municipality in Rautahat district is nabbed from Birgunj along with the drug, Superintendent of Police Ramesh Kumar Basnet shared.
