Nepal for first time co-hosting 2027 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup

KATHMANDU: Nepal is for the first time co-hosting the 2027 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

Nepal and Bangladesh are jointly hosting the World Cup, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Similarly, the ICC Board approved Malaysia and Thailand to jointly host the 2025 World Cup.

The 2024 ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup will be hosted by Sri Lanka while the 2026 World Cup jointly by Zimbabwe and Namibia.

This opportunity of Nepal to co-host the World Cup would help develop cricket infrastructure and uplift quality of the sports, said Chatur Bahadur Chand, President of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

Stating further more such opportunities Nepal could get in the future, he said all efforts would be put in place to make the event a success.

CAN would talk with the government on the infrastructure development for the event, he said.
