Rhino electrocuted in Chitwan



CHITWAN: A rhino was electrocuted in Chitwan early this morning.

With this, two rhinos died so far in the current fiscal year. The rhino died after receiving an electric shock from bare electric-wire fence that was set up at a pig farm near Icharni rivulet of Khairahani municipality-12.

Chief Conservation Officer of the Chitwan National Park, Hari Bhandra Acharya, said a male rhino of around six year died in the incident.

A team of technicians from CNP has been sent to the incident site and further investigation into the incident was underway, he shared.

As per the latest data, there are 694 rhinos in the CNP.
