PA Speakers, Deputy Speakers make farewell call on President



KATHMANDU: The Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the Province Assemblies made a farewell call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The term of the Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the Provincial Assemblies is ending from coming September 17.

During the meeting held at the President’s Office, Shital Niwas, President Bhandari suggested the Speakers and Deputy Speakers to work for the social causes, including enhancing quality of community school and health care, after their term from the existing position is over.

Likewise, President Bhandari asked the Provincial Assemblies’ Speakers and Deputy Speakers to thank the political parties and voters for providing them opportunity to work as the people’s representatives.

On the occasion, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina shared the conclusion of a program organized on his own coordination about health protocol, while the Speakers and Deputy Speakers presented the review of their term drawn from an event organized by Province No. 1 in Dhankuta.

In the farewell meeting, Speakers and Deputy Speakers of five provinces and Deputy Speaker of Lumbini Province were present while Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Madhes Province remained absent in the function.

The term of the Provincial Assemblies’ Speakers and Deputy Speakers is expiring from September 17 as the elections to the federal parliament and provincial assembly are scheduled to take place on November 20.
