KATHMANDU: The Chinese distributor of Oppo Mobiles in Nepal has absconded without paying rent dues.

The national distributor of Oppo Mobile Phone company had been operated by leasing one ropani land and renting two houses along with temporary structures on the leased land in Kathmandu-5.

The Chinese national, who had set up the national distributor of the mobile phone company, is found to have vacated the property and is out of contact for the past few months.

Land owner Sangita Basnet said DS Private Limited (Oppo) had not paid rent for the past three months and its owner was unreachable.

The company had renewed leasing contract for two years on April 14 this year. However, in less than three months since the renewal of the contract, the owner, who is a Chinese national, has absconded without clearing dues.

Property owner Basnet said she was preparing to opt a legal recourse since the Chinese national is out of contact for the past three months.

“The company has vacated the property without prior notice. I have written to the company to clear all liabilities within seven days. Meanwhile, the condition of the house has been made worse. If the company does not respond in seven days, I will have to take legal help to recover my dues,” Basnet said.

Deputy Secretary at Company Registrar’s Office Shekhar Babu Karki said Chinese national Yu Bao Zhao is the owner of DS Private Limited (Oppo).
