KATHMANDU: 36 DSPs have been recommended for promotion in Nepal Police.

The Police Headquarters on Wednesday published the promotion list of 36 SPs.

Among the promoted are 58th and 61st batch police officers.

Debendra Bahadur Pal has been promoted to number one from the batch of 58 and Komal Shah has been promoted to number one from 61.

Shah is a DSP assigned to protect Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

In this promotion, not only the priority has been shifted, but only those who are close to the power center have been pushed up.

Naresh Raj Subedi, who has been promoted to the second position, has been deployed under the protection of CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

DSP Gautam KC, who was number one in the team in the promotion that took place in February 2015, has been left out of the promotion. Shah was previously at number 17. He has succeeded in coming to number one in promotion by using the power of the Prime Minister’s Office.
