KATHMANDU: The downtrend of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued on Monday, the first trading day of the week.
The market declined by 15.82 points to 2032.34 points.
The stock market, which had increased only one day after the May 29 budget, has been declining continuously for long.
A total of 2,920,705 shares of 230 companies were traded in 20,774 transactions on Monday. The transaction amount has further shrunk today. The transaction amount, which reached Rs 1 billion on other days except Friday, shrunk to Rs 998.67 million on Monday. The indicators of all subgroups went red.
Investors in life insurance companies lost the most today. The share price of Manushi Microfinance declined by 5.40 percent to Rs 1047.20 today.
Balefi Hydropower traded up 9.99 percent at Rs 289.30 on Monday. The price of Green Venture Limited also rose by 9.98 percent to Rs 320.70. Unilever Nepal’s price rose 4.10 percent to 18,100.
