PM assures to table citizenship bill after concerns on budget allayed: LSP



KATHMANDU: Leaders of the Loktrantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) have said Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba assured them that the Citizenship Bill would move forward in the parliament as soon as the government concludes allaying concerns about the Appropriation bill.

LSP leaders reached the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Monday to draw his attention to various demands.

The leaders submitted a 11-point memorandum to PM Deuba. The memo included issues such as citizenship bill, release of Resham Chaudhary, budget cuts to Madhes, among others.

Leaders Rajendra Mahato and Sharad Singh Bhandari, among others, accompanied LSP Chairman Mahantha Thakur to Baluwatar.

“Today we went to meet PM Deuba. He vowed to bring the citizenship bill after the budget session concludes,” leader Bhandari said.
