TU forms three-member probe committee to deal with questions repeat issue

KATHMANDU: The Tribhuvan University (TU) has formed a committee to investigate the repetition of question papers in its recent exams for two papers of Master’s degree under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

According to TU registrar and central examinations committee chair Prof Dr Peshal Dahal, the three-member committee has been formed to probe the matter and it is coordinated by Professor Ghanashyam Bhattarai.

The committee is mandated to submit a study report within a week. The question paper for MA degree in Economics (third semester, course title – Public Economics) for June 1 exam and the paper for MA degree in Political Science (first semester, course title- International Politics) for June 6 exams were allegedly repeated from the previous exams.

The 13 questions for 60 marks question paper were said to be ditto from the previous two exams.

The negligence of those assigned for setting the question papers is blamed for the issue. However, TU has its experts’ team to set the question papers.
