KATHMANDU: Voting at a polling station in ward 2 of Dakneshwori Municipality, Saptari, has been postponed till Sunday.

The voting was halted earlier after a group of persons vandalized ballot boxes and thrashed a polling officer at the Hariraha Janata High School polling station in Dakneshwori Municipality-2.

Election Officer Shambhunath Magar said it has been decided to arrange voting on May 15.

Election Officer Bipin Yadav was injured in the incident and sent to Rajbiraj for treatment.

Some people suddenly began attacking the staff, tearing papers and vandalizing ballot boxes at the polling station.
