Elderly dies in course of exercising franchise in Baitadi



KATHMANDU: An elderly who reached a polling station to cast his vote at Patan Municipality-6 of Baitadi has died.

The deceased has been identified as Kamal Singh Bista, 70, of Patan Municipality-6, said District Police Office, Baitadi.

He was taken to the polling station at Krishna Secondary School on a stretcher. Bista suddenly fainted at the polling station and later died in course of receiving treatment.

Earlier, Harisingh Bhat, 84, of Dogadakedar Rural Municipality-3 had also lost his life while going to cast vote at Sanatan Dharma Secondary School Shrikot polling station.
