Attempts being made to break the ruling alliance: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has claimed that attempts have been to break the ruling coalition.

Speaking at a program organized at the party headquarters Parisdanda in Kathmandu on the occasion of “People’s War Day” on Sunday, Prachanda said that an alliance has been formed to protect the constitution, democratic republic and nationality.

“This alliance is not formed on the basis of an agreement of a project with any country. It’s high time we all moved forward on the basis of the values and the spirit for forming this alliance,” he said.

Prachanda claimed that attempts are being made to disrupt the election process to topple the government by splitting the coalition.

Meanwhile, he also urged all factions of the Maoists to come together.

“We, the Maoists, should come together once again. All revolutionary forces also need to be united,” he added.

Stating that domestic and foreign reactionary forces are still trying to reverse the achievements and political change achieved through the sacrifices of the people and discredit the leaders and the party leading the change, Prachanda urged the Maoist factions to unite by assimilating the problems facing the country.

In a statement issued today on the occasion of the 27th “People’s War Day”, Prachanda said, “I urge all factions of the Maoist to unite by assimilating the problems facing the country.”

“I believe that the present change can be further strengthened and consolidated if all the forces fighting for change come together,” he said.

Chairman Prachanda has appealed to all the leaders and cadres of the party and the well-wishers to unite and move forward to defeat what he said “all kinds of reactionary conspiracies”.
