KATHMANDU: Four metric tons of garbage have been managed by cleaning the Bagmati riverbank under the Buddhanagar Bridge.

It was the 457th week of the Bagmati Cleaning Campaign, Minister for Culture and Tourism of Bagmati Province Dipendra Shrestha also participated in the clean-up.

Campaigners including Uddhav Prasad Timilsina, chair of the Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee and Megh Ale, chair of the river conservation society also took part in the cleaning, according to one of the campaigners Kishore Singh Shahi.

Likewise, employees of Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited, Kathmandu Metropolitan Environment Department Teku, Bagmati Garbage Elimination Consumer Society, Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee and the locals joined the noble initiative.

Similarly, the riverbank area under Balkumari Bridge has been cleaned in the 256th week of Manohara cleaning campaign. Campaigner Chandra Dangal informed RSS that a vehicle-full of garbage was managed from the area.
