Meteorologists urge trekkers to take necessary precautions

KATHMANDU: With the dip in mercury and chances of rainfall or even snowfall in the mountainous region, meteorologists have urged trekkers to take necessary precautions.

Since the temperature is decreasing, the Department of Meteorology has urged people to take necessary precautions to avoid cold.

Currently, the country has a general influence of westerly winds.

There is also a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the Himalayan regions of Province 1, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province, the Department said.

The weather will remain partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
