LUMBINI: As many as 31 CPN-UML leaders, including members of the party’s Lumbini State Committee, have quit the party.

The leaders led by Sanoj Kumar Yadav, outgoing chairman of Rohini Rural Municipality under Rupandehi Constituency-1 quit the party on Wednesday.

Yadav, who was elected as village chief from the Nepali Congress in the last elections, had joined the UML before the local elections.

They quit the party alleging the party leadership of being biased and practicing nepotism in the party.

“Party Chairman Oli has shown dictatorial tendencies in the party,” Shailendra Upadhyay, a member of the provincial committee, said.
