Please, use full-sleeve shirts while heading to office: MoHP

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has urged all the employees of the public, community and private services to use full-sleeve shirts while going to the office so as to avoid Aedes mosquito bite.

Issuing a notice on Monday, MoHP joint spokesperson Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari urged all to put on long-sleeved shirts which could save one from being bitten by the dengue-causing Aedes mosquito which is found to be active in the daytime, particularly in the late morning and late afternoon.

The measure is expected to minimize the risk of dengue. It is also appealed that the working areas be kept neat and clean and that such places are cleaned regularly.

The MoHP has said that it has intensified the campaign to search and destroy the larva of the Aedes mosquito in coordination with the provincial, district and local authorities.
