Art and Literature makes the NC stronger: Leader Poudel

KATHMANDU: Senior Nepali Congress (NC) leader Ram Chandra Poudel has said that art and literature will strengthen the party.

Speaking at a program titled ‘Nepali Congress and Literature’ organized by the Nepali Culture Association, leader Poudel disclosed about the poet within him.

“I used to write poetry when I was in prison or when I was alone. Since I am from Tanahun, naturally I am also a literature lover,” he said.

He said though the Nepal Cultural Association and various cultural artists had strengthened the party, the party has not not been able to give them due respect and recognition. “In the coming days, we will make a significant presence of cultural workers in the party,” said leader Paudel.

Urging the Association’s President Tirtha Thapa, General Secretary Shiv Shankar Prasad Rizal ‘Joginder’ and others to be more active, he asked all cultural workers to campaign to make the NC victorious in the upcoming elections.

“We have always found the association and the artists being ready for their work and the party’s promotion. Your support should be more active in the upcoming elections. We will ensure your honorable presence in the party,” said leader Paudel.

The event was attended by artists and writers associated with the Nepal Cultural Association.

Nepal Cultural Association President Thapa said that all the cultural artists, including him, were working to ensure that NC gets a majority in the upcoming elections.

“We are confident that the party will feel our presence, participation and support more in the coming days. We have not stopped doing our work. And, the association will actively bring programs targeting the upcoming elections,” said President Thapa.
