Visiting CPC delegation chief Liu calls on CPN (US) Chairperson Nepal

KATHMANDU: The visiting Communist Party of China (CPC) vistign delegation led by its International Department Chief, Liu Jianchao, held a courtesy meeting with CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal.

In the meeting held at Hotel Everest in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, today, the two leaders discussed further strengthening Nepal-China relations, according to chairperson Nepal.

The meeting was also attended by the top officials and members of the International Department from both parties.

In the meeting, a wide range of subjects including the mutual friendship between Nepal and China, current socio-political and economic situation of the two countries, the current situation of the respective parties, the future of communist movement and the avenues for further collaboration between two parties as well as the two countries were discussed.

Briefly talking to media person following the meeting, Nepal, also former Prime Minister, shared that he assured the visiting CPC foreign department chief Liu of Nepal’s foreign policy of not allowing Nepal’s land to be used against China.

Liu also expressed that relations between the two countries could be enhanced through political and other visits, informed Nepal. He shared that Liu articulated his intent to build cordial relations with various political parties in Nepal.

Present in the meeting were CPN (US) leader Jhalanath Khanal, vice-chairperson Jayanti Rai and Pramesh Hamal, secretary Prakash Jwala among others. Liu is currently in Nepal on a four-day official visit since Sunday morning. He is leading an eight-member delegation. He paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on the same day while he continues to hold meetings various political leadership here.
