Nepal sees 177 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours



KATHMANDU: Witnessing an uptick in COVID-19 cases in the past few days, Nepal recorded a total of 177 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Tuesday.

Out of the confirmed cases, 144 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 33 through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 3,126 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,805 samples were tested through RT-PCR and 1,321 through the Antigen method.

Currently, there are 873 active cases in the country as 41 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

No person died due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll in the country remains constant at 11,952 to date.
