CCP foreign department chief Liu and UML Chair Oli hold talks

KATHMANDU: Visiting head of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party, Liu Jianchao has intensified political meetings in Nepal on Tuesday as well.

Today, he met with CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli at the latter’s residence in Balkot.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the current political situation, bilateral issues, and Communist unity in the country.

Likewise, Liu is also scheduled to hold talks with Chairman of Unified Socialist Party Madhav Kumar Nepal, and senior leader Jhalanath Khanal.

It is said that they will discuss current political issues in the meeting, and the possibility of forming a Left alliance in Nepal.

He has already met Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka, and Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”.

During the meeting, issues of mutual interest were discussed.

He will return home on Wednesday.

Liu arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday on a four-day visit to Nepal leading a six-member team.

This is Liu’s first visit to Nepal after his appointment as the Foreign Department Chief.
