UML lawmaker Pal suggests doing away with provinces

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Politburo member and lawmaker Niru Pal has suggested the abolition of provinces.

“It would have been much better if the state structure, which has become a stumbling block for the country and the people, was scrapped,” she wrote on Facebook.

“Isn’t it time to think?” she queried.

The issue of doing away with provinces has been coming from CPN-UML leaders from time to time.

UML leader Gokul Banskota, too, had suggested that federalism should be abolished.
