Illegal goods seized in Nawalpur



NAWALPUR: Police have confiscated the goods imported illegally from Nawalparasi Purba.

The garment and sugar were brought by evading customs office. The police found the illegal import while conducting a security check at Arunkhola bazaar of Madhyabidndu-10 in the district.

Chief of District Police Office, Prajjwal Maharjan, informed that the items were being ferried in a truck (Lu 2 Kha 637).

There were 1,917 couples of shirts and 418 packs of sugar. The market value of garment and sugar is around Rs 5.4 million.

The police took under control the truck after not finding the invoice of the imported goods.

The confiscated items have been sent to the Customs Office, Rupandehi for further action, the police added.
