KATHMANDU: Delhi Capitals have defeated Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets in a cricket match held under the Indian Premier League.
Chasing the 161-run target set by Rajasthan, Delhi reached it in 18.1 overs losing two wickets.
Delhi’s Mitchell Marsh topped the score with 89 runs including five fours and seven sixes off 62 balls. Similarly, David Warner made 52 runs while skipper Rishabh Pant collected 13 runs to clinch the victory for the team.
In reply, Rajasthan’s Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal claimed one wicket each from Delhi.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Rajasthan notched up 160 runs losing six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Ravichandran Ashwin made the highest 50 runs followed by Devdutt Padikkal with 48 runs while Yashasvi Jaiswal hit 19 runs.
Restricting Rajasthan to 160 runs, Delhi’s Chetan Sakariya, Anrich Nortje, and Mitchell Marsh took two wickets each.
With this win, Delhi climbed to the fifth position with 12 points from 12 matches.
