President approves mobilization of army for May 13 local election



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has given approval for mobilization of the Nepali Army in the local level election slated for May 13.

The President’s Office, issuing a press release Tuesday, said the President had approved the mobilization of the army as per the recommendation of the National Security Council on March 31 and the decision of the Council of Ministers on April 7 in the upcoming local level election to be held on May 13.

The approval has been given in accordance to Article 66 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
