NC calls local level election central mobilization committee meeting

KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has called a meeting of the local level election central mobilization committee.

The meeting will be held at the central party office in Sanepa at 1 pm on April 15, informed Krishna Prasad Poudel, the chief secretary of the NC central party office.

The NC had directed its cadres not to immediately announce candidacies given the deal sealed by the five parties to forge an electoral alliance for the upcoming local level elections.

The ruling alliance is holding a meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence at 4 pm today to work out on the modality of the electoral alliance.

An NC group led by Dr Shekhar Koirala has taken exception to the decision taken by the coalition.

A Nepali citizen who reaches 18 years old on May 12 is eligible to cast his/her vote in the upcoming local elections.
